Lots of people already on the train, and more on at GI and Meadowbank. Oohs and aahs for the tunnel and going over the water. Someone’s playing music further down with some singing along.

Big family/friend group (25 or so, with prams) getting off at Britomart, taking a photo next to the train. 1 Must not have been on a train before 2 May not have been to the city before. Such a good outing and probably no other way to do it except free trains. #AklTransitChallenge

Albany constellation 120 Henderson Swanson Britomart eastern southern Onehunga - Or - Albany Britomart west 68 Onehunga southern eastern Both require some doubling up, either Parnell twice or ellerslie to Newmarket twice.

Eastern line train just arrived, full of people. So many families. #AklTransitChallenge Western line pulling in as I get to the platform, 8 minute wait. Good to see most trains are 6 cars.

Interesting to be passing by people’s backyards on the western line. Reminds me of Wellington trains, but not quite so orderly with the road layout. #AklTransitChallenge

Train is full-ish. Looks like 68 is a good bet to get to Onehunga. Unsure if it’s a good bet getting from Onehunga to southern. We’ll see. #AklTransitChallenge

Feels like a quick trip to Papakura, but maybe I’ve been riding buses and trains all day. 22 minute wait for Pukekohe train. Maybe the southern was a bit late getting in? #AklTransitChallenge

I do not miss these noisy smelly bois. Standing room only coming in from Pukekohe. Much less leaving from Papakura but seems like we’re just gonna wait for a little while.
